Allegheny Mountain Institute is cultivating healthy communities through food and education alongside our 2023 community Sponsors.

Our community sponsors enable us to strengthen our programming, train future farmers and food system workers, and have an even greater impact on the health of our region. Together we are able to nourish our community, foster wellness, and replenish the land that sustains us.   

At the heart of our work, our tuition-free Fellowship is a unique educational experience that gives participants the opportunity to develop skills in sustainable farming and distribute produce to a rural Appalachian community. In partnership with local schools, nonprofits, and hospitals, we grow and distribute approximately 50,000 pounds of vegetables annually. Our educational programming and nutrient-dense food nourish Augusta Health patients, provide valuable farm-to-school education for students in Staunton public schools, and support community health and education in Highland County.
